Adventures

In Room 145, we try to provide our students with as many experiences as possible.

Ferguson's Apple Orchard
In October, we traveled to Galesville, WI to Ferguson's Apple Orchard.  We met Farmer Tom who took us on a wagon ride through the orchard.  He taught us how to properly pick apples from the tree, and he let us pick our own to enjoy! We ventured into the haunted house and met some goats at the petting zoo.  We shared a picnic lunch and some homemade apple pie treats from the bakery on site.  It was a wonderful day!

National Eagle Center

In November, we went to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN.  We learned all about eagles, their talons, their diets, and how they are cared for at the center.  For lunch, we purchased our own meals at the local Dairy Queen!

Rock Climbing

In April, we went rock climbing at Wabasha Recreation Center at Winona State University.  We were able to try a variety of courses ranging in difficulty level.  We LOVED being able to try something new and are looking forward to going back!

Kwik Trip

In June, we took a walking field trip to Kwik Trip to buy snacks.  Our students enjoyed practicing their money skills to buy a treat of their own choice.

Midtown  Foods

Throughout the school year, we shop for groceries at Midtown Foods.  Our class cooks at least once a month, and we prepare shopping lists from our monthly recipe.  Students take turns going to the grocery store with an educational assistant.
